Does The Same Kind of Learning Pattern Make Children Lazy? What Are The Different Ways To Avoid It?

A child gets lazy when he gets bored; in fact, it’s human nature to get easily bored with similar pattern of working environment for a long period of time. Most of the parents think that kids should do their home-work every day at the same time assigned to them or should not move from their place until all their work is done.
But it’s not true as parents aren’t always right! We want our kids to follow the same old study pattern which we followed. Learning is the most important part of childhood, so it should be full of fun. “If learning becomes fun, then every child will love it.”
So here are a few tips to make learning fun and avoid boredom or laziness among the kids.
1). Add fun and creativity:– make learning a fun process by designing such activities from which the child enjoys and learns. Involvement of a child in an activity makes learning permanent and enjoyable. Use of flashcards is helpful in memorizing and increasing the vocabulary.
2). Involvement:– “One hand cannot clap on its own but it needs the other hand to make a clap.” The most overwhelming key to success is the positive involvement of parents. As a parent you are your child’s best therapist. Try and become an active participant in their learning and feel the joy of making them learn new concepts.
3). Educational Games:– Play educational games with your kids to test their knowledge. This also helps you to spend quality time with your child which is really important to bring out the best from the child. Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning.
4). Motivation:– Every time motivate your child, to stop when he is done not when he is tired. Often use positive words such as- you are amazing, you are superb, you are wonderful and so on……. We need to encourage our kids to develop a love for learning.
5). Encourage active learning:– Always resolve all the queries of your child. His unanswered questions will always act as a hindrance in his learning process. Turn everyday into a learning day .Encourage your kid to think critically of what he sees and observes.
6). Pleasant study atmosphere:– There shouldn’t be any points of distraction like television or any other gadgets which might distract the child while studying. Ample light and good ventilation creates a positive environment for learning.
Find a study buddy for your child. Talk to your child to find out if they have a friend with whom they would enjoy learning with. When learning engages children in areas and subjects of interest, learning becomes fun and children engage themselves in learning. If you want to help your child become a good listener as well as a learner, encourage him to explore topics and subjects that fascinate him.
Instead of rewards, use words of praise and instead of quantitative time spend quality time with your kid.
